What are Prestige Classes?

A prestige class is a limited class that a Ninja can take levels in to further increase their focus on a particular specialty, feature, or even a specific jutsu. A prestige class goes from levels 1 - 5. Taking a level in a prestige class functions the same way as multiclassing into another class. Some prestige classes have prerequisites that you must meet in order to level up with that class. Some examples of these prerequisites are:

  • Overall level

  • An ability score must be at a specific amount

  • A specific Jutsu must be known

What do you gain?

Taking a level in a Ninja Prestige class will still progress your chakra points, the number of jutsu you can prepare, and the unarmored movement that the Ninja class provides. The prestige class contributes to your overall level when considering your chakra and jutsu limitations. Unless granted by the prestige class, you do not gain a new jutsu when you level up in a prestige class. Some prestige classes grant you access to a new jutsu list.

A prestige class might use a different hit die than the Ninja class, so make sure to double-check the hit dice of the class you take levels in.
