Dojutsu Focus

Prerequisite: You must be able to cast at least 1 Dojutsu technique before you can take levels in this class. 

Hit Dice: 1d8

1st level: 

Flowing Chakra. Starting at 1st level, you have learned how to maintain a steady flow of chakra in your eyes. When you use a Dojutsu, you can reduce the chakra cost of that jutsu by an amount equal to your proficiency bonus to a minimum of 1.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to half your overall level (rounded down), and you regain all uses when you complete a long rest. 

Inspired Sight. Starting at 1st level, you can call upon the chakra reserves within your eyes to increase your physical prowess. When you make an attack, ability check, or saving throw, you can roll 1d8 and add it to the result. You can do so after the roll is made, but before the outcome of the roll is determined. 

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all uses when you finish a long rest.    

DoJutsu Technique. If you have access to a jutsu list that can provide you with Dojutsu techniques, you can learn one Dojutsu from that list whenever you gain a level in this class. 

2nd Level:

Specialty. At 2nd level, you learn how to utilize your ocular power in different ways. When you gain this feature, you select one of the following features and gain its benefits: 

Eye of Combat. While you have an active Byakugan, Sharingan, or if you possess a Rinnegan, you gain a +2 bonus on melee damage rolls, and you gain a +1 bonus on ranged attack rolls.

Eye of Defense. While you have an active Byakugan, Sharingan, or if you possess a Rinnegan, you gain a +2 bonus on Strength, Dexterity, and Wisdom saving throws against Jutsu, and you gain a +1 bonus to your armor class. 

Eye of Focus. While you have an active Byakugan, Sharingan, or if you possess a Rinnegan, you gain a +5 bonus to your passive perception and investigation, and you gain blindsight out to 10 feet. This increases the range of your blindsight if you have a Byakugan. 

3rd Level:

Expert Sight. Starting at 3rd level, your vision has become even more precise. While you have an active Byakugan, Sharingan, or if you possess a Rinnegan, if you roll a 9 or lower on a wisdom (perception) check or an intelligence (investigation) check, you treat the roll as if you had rolled a 10. 

4th Level:

Ability Score Improvement. When you reach 4th Level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two Ability Scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can’t increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

Visual Diversity. You can select an additional Specialty from the list available to you at 2nd level. You must choose a different specialty than the one you chose at 2nd level.  

5th Level:

Eyes of Exception. At 5th level, the type of Dojutsu you possess determines your following skill: 

Byakugan. While you have an active Byakugan, you gain the following benefits: 

• The range of your Darkvision increases to 120 feet. 

• When you make a martial arts attack, you can choose to take a -5 penalty to the attack roll. If you hit with the attack, you add +10 to the attack’s damage. 

• You can focus your vision as an action allowing you to see up to 1 mile away with extreme detail. 

Sharingan. While you have an active Sharingan, you gain the following benefits: 

• If you roll a 9 or lower on a dexterity saving throw, you treat the roll as a 10. 

• You gain advantage on saving throws to resist Genjutsu. 

• You gain advantage on the first attack roll you make on a turn. 

Rinnegan. While you possess a Rinnegan, you gain the following benefits: 

• The DC of any Dojutsu you cast through the use of your Rinnegan is increased by 2. 

• When you roll the damage for a Rinnegan Dojutsu you cast, you can re-roll a number of damage dice equal to your wisdom modifier, but you must use the new rolls.
