The Byakugan

The Byakugan is the mighty Kekkei Genkai of the Hyuga clan. The strength of this Dojutsu varies depending on the user, but its primary use is heightening the user’s perception. You unlock the ability to use your Byakugan at 1st level, and you do not need to prepare the technique to use it. You can use your action to activate the Byakugan by spending 2 chakra points. You gain the following benefits while they are active:

• You have advantage on Wisdom (perception) checks that rely on sight.

• You cannot be surprised.

• You gain 60 feet of Darkvision.

• You gain 30 feet of Blindsight, allowing you to use and gain the benefits of active Dojutsu within that area.

• You can see chakra and discern chakra color.

• You can focus your gaze to peer through solid objects. By using your action to stare at an object, you can see through 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of Common metal, or up to 3 feet of wood or dirt. Thicker substances block your vision, as does a thin sheet of lead.

The Byakugan effects last for 10 minutes before you would need to spend 2 chakra to reactivate them (requiring no action). While the Byakguan alone do not grow in strength, the user can strengthen their own abilities to complement the benefits that the Byakugan provide.
